2024 YWCA Toronto Women of Distinction Awards Gala sparkled under the sun at the luxurious Liberty Grand on May 23, 2024. It was a beautiful & stunning evening of celebration honoring the amazing achievements of five change-makers who champion gender equity. It was all for a worthy cause: to raise much needed funds for the YWCA’s life-changing programs and services. Marcia Young emceed the awards to be shown on CBC Gem weekday mornings starting at 5 a.m.

Pre-Gala Reception:

Guests arrived for the beautiful pre-Awards Ceremony Reception and scrumptious market-style dinner in the Liberty Grand’s elegant Governor’s Room. Beautiful women met and mingled with Meet and Women of Distinction past and present as well as other guests. There were amazing and delicious food stations serving amazing food. Guests also bid on the silent auction prizes and purchased raffle tickets.

The Five YMCA Change-Makers:

The Gala honoured the achievements of five change-makers who champion gender equity, and raise vital funds for our life-changing programs and services: Natasha Ferguson (Labour: general contractor and principal owner of Ethelfox Construct Group ), Jaspreet Gill (Advocacy and Social Justice: Executive Director of York Region Center for Community Safety ), Kelly Hannah-Moffat (Education: an internationally respected scholar, administrator, and advocate for penal reform), Gillian Riley (Corporate Leadership: the current President and CEO of Tangerine Bank ) and Nadia Ladak (Young Woman of Distinction: entrepreneur, co-founded Marlow, a gender-inclusive, eco-friendly menstrualcare brand offering the first lubricated tampon.)

After Party:
