Dixon Hall Music School lit up Toronto with its annual Music For Life 2025 benefit and gala dinner—an unforgettable evening hosted at the glamorous Four Seasons Hotel in Yorkville on November 12, 2025. More than 400 generous guests came together for a night filled with inspiring student performances, a gourmet dining experience, and a shared passion for empowering children and youth through the transformative power of music.

This year’s celebration marked 47 incredible years of Dixon Hall Music School offering an accessible, creative, and supportive home for young people. With the brilliantly funny Sean Cullen as host, the evening also featured powerful speeches from CEO Mina Mawani, along with dedicated leaders Bill Monreau and Bob McKitrick, who continue to shape the school’s life-changing mission.

About Dixon Hall Music School

For nearly five decades, Dixon Hall Music School has been a beacon of hope for children and youth who face barriers caused by inequity, poverty, and violence. Built on the pillars of family engagement, accessible programming, and fostering belonging, the school helps students discover their strengths, build confidence, and unlock bright futures through music.

Their commitment is proven: 100% of Grade 12 students graduate high school and continue to post-secondary education.

A Proud History Rooted in Community

Founded in 1978 with just 45 students and volunteer teachers, the Music School began in the basement of 58 Sumach Street in Regent Park. Today, it thrives in the beautiful Ada Slaight Studios inside the Bill Graham Youth Centre at 51 Wyatt Avenue.
Even through the challenges of the pandemic, Dixon Hall continued to support students virtually—returning joyfully to full in-person programming in Fall 2022.

A Vision for Brighter Futures

Serving children and youth in Toronto’s Downtown East, Dixon Hall Music School offers much more than music lessons—it creates a brave, inclusive space where young people develop creativity, resilience, and essential life skills. The Arts become a catalyst for social connection, confidence, and long-term success.

A Celebration With Purpose:  Music For Life 2025

Music For Life 2025 was not only a spectacular gala—it was a heartfelt reminder of how community support can change the lives of young people. The event showcased the incredible talent of Dixon Hall’s students and reaffirmed the power of music to uplift, inspire, and transform.
