Dragon Ball 2024 – Year of the Dragon

The Yee Hong Community Wellness Foundation held its 35th annual Dragon Ball 2024 – Year of the Dragon on Saturday February 10th, 2024 at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre to raise money to build new residential hospices in the GTA . Nicole Servinis and Winston Sih hosted the gala.   According to organizers, approximately 1,000 guests attended.  This Ball was supported by thirty corporate sponsors and five restaurants.

Cuisine

The Gala opened with its Grand Reception featuring hors d’oeuvres created by a group of young, accomplished Chinese-Canadian chefs and followed by a four course dinner. There was also a post-dinner sweet and savoury table.  Chef Eric Chong introduces tableware and recipes specially designed for long-term care residents to educate younger generations to care for their seniors through ancestral  foods and traditions.

Yee Hong Expansion

Proceeds from Dragon Ball 2024 will support the construction of three new long-term care homes as well as Yee Hong’s services and programs for seniors.

Auction:

This year’s auction consisted of more than 250 items, including exquisite wine, a pair of court side tickets, valuable jewellery ,a pair  of Air Canada Business Class tickets to anywhere in the world, and  a coins set from Coin Market.

Entertainment:

Guests enjoyed the opening show, the “Double Dragon” dance with a display of light and wonder.  Hong Kong Freestyle Kendama Association performs Chinese Folk dance and  athletic demonstration.
