One Wish Gala

The Make-A-Wish Foundation held its inaugural One Wish Gala on November 23, 2006 at the Carlu in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. The theme of the gala was recapturing the magic of youth through the enchantment of the evening and guests were asked to remember their childhood when they dreamt for a wish to come true! This fund raising ball consisted of the cocktail reception and silent auction beginning at 6 p.m., followed by dinner at 7:30 p.m. with Host Ben Mulroney, the live auction, entertainment and the live performance featuring SOCAN award winning Jann Arden. The after party which started at 10:30 featured the Starz Band with Liberty Silver.

Dinner Theatre

The dinning area was impressive and the dinner was superb: The Rocket and Pear Salad ( six year aged Maple Dale Cheddar, Sundried Cherries and Organic Apple Cider Dressing ), Triple A Beef Tenderloin Filet and Chicken Breast Stuffed with Country Apple and Wild Mushroom and for dessert, Baby Chocolate Truffle Cake dusted or our favorite Warm Caramelized Banana Tart!

Make-A-Wish-Foundation

The Make-A-Wish-Foundation is the largest wish granting for children organizations in the world with 32 international affiliates across 5 continents and since its beginning in 1980 has granted an estimated 162,000 wishes worldwide to children between the ages of 3 and 17 who have life threatening illnesses and thereby enrich their human experience with hope, strength and joy!

The inaugural One Wish Gala was a classy evening for a worthy cause. It was a great effort on the part of all the guests, sponsors, organizers, business that donated auction items, stylists and makeup artists, celebrities, bar staff, waiters, security, journalists to support the Make-A-Wish Foundation.
