Peter Pan
Ross Petty Production held the official opening of PETER PAN, The Family Musical That's Silly Very Silly! on November 28, 207 at the elegant Elgin Theatre ( see Sources & Links) in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. , Kurt Browning ( four-time World Champion, three-time Olympian and four-time Canadian Figure Skating Champion) was great in his theatrical debut as Peter Pan! "Kurt and I have been looking for a show to do together for years. With his sparkling wit, incredible enthusiasm, and amazing physicality, there isn't a better role for Kurt anywhere than the boy who never grew up", says Petty. Ross Petty, in our view, stole the show in the role of the evil Captain Hook who was determined to exact revenge on Peter Pan, while plotting his trip to Hollywood.
I don't know about you, but I like Peter Pan never want to grow up!
This show takes place in modern day times where Wendy dreams of being a pop star, Tinkerbell is busy downloading music off the Internet and Captain Hook wants to go to Hollywood to become the next big action star! Peter Pan was directed by Susan H. Schulman, written by Chris Earle, choreographed by Tracey Flye. Steve Hunter was Music Director. Jennifer Waiser ( who was nominated for a Dora Mavor Moore Award in Urinetown - see past events ) was great as the high flying role of techno Tinkerbell. Eddie Glen appeared as Hook's sidekick Smee. Meghan Hoople appeared as Wendy Darling. Peter Pan was well directed by New York veteran Susan H. Schulman. Brandon Banks and Matthew Del Bel Belluz played Michael and John Darling and Larry Mannell, Geoffrey Tyler and Steven Gallagher were the Lost Boyz II Men.
The after party was held at the King Edward hotel for the cast and crew. The reception was very fine and all of the cast showed up for photo opportunities.
Ross Petty productions acknowledged the support of BMO, Pizza Pizza, Le Royal Meridien King Edward Hotel and Tim Hortons.
The official opening night of Peter Pan was entertaining and funny and was highly recommended. Check back here for details on upcoming and past theatrical events in the TDOT!
