Whodunit - OCAD Mystery Art Gala Preview Fundraisng Party
The Ontario College of Art & Design (OCAD - see Sources & Links ) held its annual Whodunit - OCAD Mystery Art Gala Preview Fundraisng Party on Nov. 21, 2007 at its unique site in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. "OCAD Mystery Art Sale is the Ontario College of Art & Design's signature fundraising event." [ocad.ca] Part of the Gala consisted of the exhibition and sale of 51/2" x 71/2" pieces of original art by well-known and celebrity artists, the College's faculty, alumni and students. Gala guests got a chance to view hundreds of pieces of art during the Gala Party. Purchasers of the art were asked to write down the numbers of the pieces of art they wanted to buy. The art is then sold on a first-come, first-served basis. The public art sale was held on November 24, 2007.
The Gala preview also consisted of martini reception with hors d'oeuvres
and martins followed by another fine reception with great food and drinks. The live auction featured artists such as Shelley Adler, Ed Burtynsky, Charles Pachter, David Blackwood, Peter Hoffer, James Lahey, John Soctt and Cathy Daley as well as "Whodunit?" Guest were asked to check purchasing tips from mystery art buyers.
