The 26th Annual Mirror Ball took place on Friday, November 10th, 2017. To date, the Mirror Ball raised $1 million in support of Look Good Feel Better, Canada’s only charity dedicated to helping all women and teens manage devastating appearance-related effects of cancer and its treatment. For 25 years, Look Good Feel Better has helped Canadian women and teens restore a sense of self and renew a feeling of womanhood, however they choose to define it.

Over 700 guests flooded the banquet room at Westin Harbour Castle hotel, dressed in their “Friday Night Fabulous” best. VIP guests in attendance included Canadian actress Cara Gee, Ann Kaplan of Real Housewives of Toronto, Brian Bailey (noted fashion designer), and five Look Good Feel Better ambassadors who survived terminal diseases and participated in the Look Good Feel Better workshops. The cocktail reception was exceptionally elegant that featured a balloon bursts station, a huge silent auction filled with prizes that ran the gamut from gift baskets to power tools and a custom gown from Eric Sana, a Toronto-based bespoke fashion designer. The fine wine auction drew a huge crowd who walked through the rows upon rows of exquisite Old World wines, including a bottle of a 2007 Domaine de la Romaneé – Conti Échézeaux Grand Cru that has an appraisal value of $3,913.00. Professional electric harpist, M’Michele, provided musical entertainment during the reception. With her elegant stage presence and accompanying DJ, her set was sexy, hip, and mesmerizing.

Following a very sumptuous three course dinner prepared by Westin Harbour Castle’s Chef Corbin Tomaszeski, Sandra Carusi took to the stage to start the after dinner entertainment. The radio host/comedienne is a five time cancer fighter herself and revealed in her opening that taking part in Look Good Feel Better helped her regain her confidence and get back into comedy. Other highlights of the evening included a live auction with four incredibly extravagant prizes, such as a cruise in the Mediterranean, digital ad space in Yonge / Dundas square for twenty-four hours (L’oréal won that prize), and executive suite tickets to the Maple Leafs versus the New York Islander game. The night concluded with musical entertainment from Montreal Rhapsody.

This thirteen-piece cover orchestra was so much fun! They were dynamic, versatile in their song choices as they performed everything from disco to Top 40 hits, and their bass and string sections were out-of-this-world amazing.

It was a memorable night that celebrated the work and accomplishments of Look Good Feel Better while at the same time recognizing that there is still much work for them to do as Canada’s only charity that focuses on helping all women rebuild their self-esteem after being stricken by cancer and other terminal diseases.
