The Honda Indy Toronto, an annual IndyCar Series race,  hit the TDOT from July 14 to 16, 2017.  Indy Toronto included the free by donation family Friday and two days of racing, the Honda World,  Thunder Ally,  Beer Gardens, qualifying races and the NASCAR Series Grand Prix of Toronto Race and the Verizon Indy Car Series Race.  Also, the charity event, RALLY Toronto by Racing for Cancer was held on July 13, 2017.

Torontoartsandevents began covering the Honda Indy Toronto when it was known as the Molson Indy Toronto - it was a Champion Car World Series race held annually from 1986 to 2007. The track is located at Exhibition Place. It is IndyCar’s second-longest running street race, second only to the Grand Prix of Long Beach.

Toronto Indy Car Race:

The Indy Toronto IndyCar Series event was held on Sunday July16, 2017 on the grounds of the CNE.  Scott Dixon collided with Will Power during the opening lap:  Will Power did not finish and Dixon finished 10th overall.  Toronto’s own James Hinchcliffe took third place, for the second time in two years, Alexander Rossi took second place and Josef Newgarden took third place for the second time in three years under threatening skies.

The RALLY Toronto by Racing for Cancer:

James Hinchcliffe and Ryan Hunter-Reay hosted a fundraising event to support the charity Racing for Cancer as well as benefit Waldenstrom’s Macroglobulinemia Foundation of Canada on July 13, 2017 at the Fermenting Cellar - Distillery District in Toronto Ontario.  This event was well attended by drivers such as Paul Tracy, car racing fans and supporters as well as media.  This great event included an open bar, great food, a silent and live auction and live entertainment!

The Honda Indy Toronto is an annual IndyCar Series.  The track is located on the C.N.E. grounds in Toronto.  Torontoartsandevents began covering it when it was known as the Molson Indy Toronto when it was a Champion Car World Series race held annually from 1986 to 2007. It is IndyCar’s second-longest running street race, second only to the Grand Prix of Long Beach.  This event is now owned and operated by Green Savoree Racing Promotions.
