Pride Toronto held its second annual Pride Month from May 31 to June 25, 2017: a “celebration of the strength and beauty of diverse sexual orientations, gender identities and gender expressions.”  Prime Minister Justin Trudeau attended the annual Pride Parade. Pride Month launched on May 31 by city leaders, officials and Mayor Tory holding a flag raising ceremony that paired the raising of both the Trans pride and rainbow Pride flags.

The Festival Weekend Major Events were held as follows Trans March - June 23, 2017, Dyke March - June 24, 2017 and Pride Parade - June 25, 2017.
 
The Pride Parade:

The jewel of Pride is the Pride Parade which was held on Sunday June 25, 2017 - close to a million people attended.

Blockorama:

One of the most exciting events of Pride 2017 was Blockorama presented by Blackness Yes!  -celebration of Black, Caribbean, and African communities. Performing was Cakes Da mixing in his various musical influences and underground experience and Evelyn ‘Champagne’ along with DJ such as DJ Black Cat, Craig Dominic, Pleasure, Nik Red, Carma, and Vaughan.

Toronto’s one million dollar budget is paid by “aggressive fund raising” such as the toonie drive, individual & corporate donations.  According to Pride Toronto, Pride Week contributes about $ 80 million to the local economy.
