The 24th Annual Mirror Ball took place on Saturday, November 21, 2015. This elegant black-tie fundraiser raised $1million in support of Beauty Gives Back and their mission to help women face the emotional turmoil that comes with battling cancer with support and resources. For over 20 years, Beauty Gives Back has supported tens of thousands of women with cancer through programs such as the Look Good Feel Better program, a free two-hour cosmetic and hair alternatives workshop, and FacingCancer.ca, an online support community.

Over 700 guests were in attendance at the 24th Annual Mirror Ball, held inside the Liberty Grand. The cocktail reception was exceptionally elegant that featured a balloon bursts station, a huge silent auction filled with an amazing variety of prizes, and a silent auction of vintage Old World wines. At the Bubbles and Bling station, guests received a glass of champagne and a pair of beautiful earrings from Hillberg and Berk. Their purchase also entered them in a draw for a breathtaking Tacori “Ribbon” ring valued at $10,000. Three pieces from the recently launched Tessa Virtue by Hillberg and Berk jewellery collection were part of the silent auction.
The live musical performances were absolutely fantastic and easily the best part of the ball! Jully Black, Canada’s queen of R&B Soul, strutted and worked the ballroom like it was her own personal stage. She openly shared her own brush with breast cancer at 26 years old to the guests (she’s been cancer-free since then). During the evening, saxophonists played smooth jazz as guests dined on a sumptuous three course dinner. Other highlights from the evening included a live auction of sports tickets, a European river cruise, and a 2016 Ford Mustang Coupe GT.

Following the dinner, guests were ushered into a separate room for After Dark, the event’s glamourous after-party. A live musical set by The Collective featuring Miles Raine kicked off the night. A gifting suite from BirchBox provided makeup touchups; TIPS Nail Bar offered free manicures, while the Swarovski-sponsored Flash Tattoos booth placed gold temporary tattoos to the guests. Guests noshed on treats from the fully stocked dessert bar and the gourmet hors d’oeuvres that were passed around all night. An awesome DJ set kept the guests dancing until the early morning hours.
