Project 31 OCAD University

“OCAD U’s fifth annual fine art auction supports the creative thinkers of tomorrow

“From spectacular large-scale photographs to intricate ceramic sculpture, works by OCAD University’s award-winning faculty and select alumni are on the docket for Project 31, the fifth annual live auction in support of student scholarships and opportunities. The auction takes place on Thursday, March 27, with the preview of works beginning at 6 p.m.
With 42 lots that include painting, photography, limited edition prints, sculpture, illustration, jewellery and digital media, Project 31 gives donating artists the opportunity to direct the proceeds of the sale of their works to specific areas of need at the university. In past years, the funds have gone to scholarships, bursaries for students needing financial support, the university’s library, the Florence Off-Campus Studies Program, additional hours with live models and the purchase of new equipment for specific programs
“In the past four years, Project 31 has helped us raise more than $300,000. Buying tickets and bidding on these amazing works supports students — the artists, designers and creative thinkers of tomorrow,” says Sara Diamond, president and vice-chancellor, OCAD University.
Some works sell very affordably — starting under $1000 — and thus give both new and established collectors the opportunity to purchase art by OCAD U’s talented faculty members.
This year’s auction includes work from Michael Antkowiak, Barbara Astman, Philippe Blanchard, Ian Carr-Harris, Wendy Coburn, Douglas Coupland, John Deal, Judith Doyle, Brendan Flanagan, Adrian Forrow, Tori Foster, Spencer J. Harrison, April Hickox, Mark Jaroszewicz, Simone Jones in collaboration with Ramtin Lotfabadi, Anda Kubis, JJ Lee, Greg Mably, Hugh Martin, Linda Martinello, Alex McLeod, Laura Millard, Dorie Millerson, Julie Nagam, Sarah Nind, James Olley, Luke Painter, Doug Panton, Diane Pugen, Nicholas Pye, Edmond Rampen, John Scott, Rosalie Sharp, Vladimir Spicanovic, Peter Sramek, Gary Taxali, Robin Tieu, Ken Vickerson, Elaine Waisglass, Natalie Majaba Waldburger, George A. Walker and Sylvia Whitton.
