33rd annual Business for the Arts Awards Gala


The Business for the Arts, Canada’s national association of business leaders who support the arts, held their 33rd annual Business for the Arts Awards Gala at the Carlu in Toronto, Ontario on October 4, 2012.  This Gala brought together Canada’s business and arts leaders to recognize “the extraordinary contributions made by individual business leaders and companies who have shown outstanding commitment to the arts.” 
This year’s event included a delectable French meal and entertaining performances by Canadian songstress Patricia O’Callaghan, who will bring her distinctive brand of cabaret to Edith Piaf favourites; Quartetto Gelato; clarinetist Kornel Wolak; and Chris Donnelly and The Myriad Trio.

The attendees included:

- Mo Dhaliwal, winner of The Arnold Edinborough Award
- Nichole Anderson, President & CEO, Business for the Arts
- Jim Fleck, Chairman, Business for the Arts
- Phillip Crawley, Publisher & CEO, The Globe and Mail
- Mendl Schwartz, President & CEO, Incredible Printing, winner of Small Business Partnership Award
- Jordan and Jeremy Grant, The Seaton Group, winner of Best Entrepreneurial Partnership Award
- Scott Mullin, TD Bank Group, winner of Most Effective Corporate Program Award
- Saul Plener, PricewaterhouseCoopers, winner of Most Innovative Marketing Sponsorship Award
- Amanda Lang, Host and CBC on-air personality
- Performances by Quartetto Gelato, Patricia O’Callaghan, and Chris Donnelly and The Myriad Trio

The Awards:


The Globe and Mail Business for the Arts Partnership Awards comprise four awards which recognize companies that show an inspiring commitment to the arts in Canada.

The Arnold Edinborough Award recognizes an individual young professional under the age of 40 who has demonstrated exceptional leadership and volunteerism in the arts.

The Edmund C. Bovey Award is given to an individual business professional who has demonstrated exemplary leadership support of the arts.

The Business for the Arts Awards Gala brings together Canada’s foremost business and arts leaders to recognize outstanding business support of the arts.
