Servestock 2012

En route from New York City, before jetting across the pond to Europe, Canadian rock group, The Sheepdogs,  will stop to headline at Servestock’s annual rock ‘n’ roll fundraiser on Wednesday, June 13, 2012.

Set to perform at last year’s Servestock, The Sheepdogs instead made a last minute trip to New York City, winning a competition with Rolling Stone and becoming the first unsigned band to ever appear on the cover. Today, the musical rockers from Saskatoon have a contract with Atlantic Records, three Juno wins this year, and have performed on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon and at the Bonnaroo Music Festival. This year, the Sheepdogs, who’s album LP Learn & Burn went GOLD in November, are back and ready to rock Servestock 2012, helping raise funds for Serve, an organization that helps diverse and at-risk youth in Toronto.

“The Sheepdogs perform in sold-out shows across the country, have toured with Kings of Leon and have been featured on the cover of Rolling Stone,” said David Kines, Servestock co-chair.  “We are thrilled to see Canada’s top new group lend their support to youth in our community.  With three Juno wins, we know it’s going to be a memorable night at Servestock.”

The Sheepdogs will be joined by the local electro pop group Double Deez & the Outerspacerz. Servestock also welcomes notable Canadian hosts including comedian Colin Mochrie, best known from ‘Whose Line Is It Anyway’, actress and comedian Debra McGrath, television host Steve Anthony and radio sportscaster James Cybulski.

Not only are guests privy to a diverse line-up of entertainment in an eclectic backyard location, but there will be a delicious array of wine, cocktails and gourmet BBQ, as well as a silent and live auction of, trips, high-end appliances and special celebrity memorabilia.

“Since 2003, Servestock has raised more than $1,000,000 for Serve thanks to the support from companies, volunteers, and generous guests who attend this special fundraiser,” said Jane L. Thompson, Servestock co-chair.
