IIDEX/NeoCon Canada 2008

The 24th annual IIDEX/NeoCon Canada was held in Toronto on September 25 & 26, 2008 at the Direct Energy Centre on the C.N.E. grounds. According to organizers, IIDEX/NeoCon Canada is Canada’s largest exposition and conference for the design, construction and management of the built environment and it attracts over 15,000 attendees from across Canada who are active members of the design, architectural and business communities and it delivers the latest products, unique programming and special industry events.

Special events of IIDEX/NeoCon Canada included:

(a) IIDEX/NeoCon Canada Welcome Reception which was held Thursday, September 25 . 5:00 - 6:30 PM on the trade floor;

(b) ARIDO Awards of Excellence Celebration and the IIDEX/NeoCon Canada Innovation Awards which was held Thursday September 25, 2008 at 6:30 p.m. at the Heritage Court in the Direct Energy Centre. This event ( which was a retro sit down dinner ) had over 1000 attendees! Its theme was Retromorphosis and it drew from the past as AIRDO looked towards the future. You were invited to revisit the glamour of classic design. The purpose of this event was to appreciate "excellence in interior design and honour innovative products and booths from across North America debuting at this year's show."

(c) The Light Canada Gala, IES Toronto was held Saturday, September 27 7:00 PM at the luxurious Le Royal Meridien - King Edward Hotel in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. The IES Toronto section presented the Light Canada Gala which recognized award winning lighting designs and their creators. The purpose of this event was to celebrate the lighting industry in Canada.
