• How much is my hotel worth? "This session pits industry experts against each other in a Jeopardy-style hot-seat environment designed to separate the softies from the value investors. This session will incorporate a case study format with no advance planning by the participants:
• Establishing the Beachhead Setting up Business in Canada - explored the Canadian business, legal, taxation and operating landscape and identify areas of interest and concern for the hotel industry in Canada;
• The Return of Management Agreements - explored the trend and effect of The separation of hotel ownership and management is becoming more pronounced as a new kind of owner enters the industry and traditional owner/operators shed real estate assets; Mixed-Use Projects - exports the mixed-use projects from various angles.
• So you want to Franchise my Hotel? The Devil's in the Details - explored various aspects of the franchise agreement and how it effects hotel owners and managers
• Building the Capital Stack - this panel explored the lending interest and criteria for new builds, expansions, acquisitions and refinancing; The Last Word was a wrap of the days events with quotes for attendees at the reception and comments from the panel.
• The Last Word - this session is wrap up of the day's information with a view to the future.
