2006 Hotel Association of Canada National Conference & Trade Show
February 14 & 15, 2006
The 2006 Hotel Association of Canada's National Conference & Trade Show was held on February 14 & 15, 2006 in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. According to this Association's web site, the Hotel Association of Canada which was founded in 1913 and represents the accommodation industry in Canada and its membership encompasses not only the corporate hotel chains, independent hotels, motels and resorts and the many suppliers to the hotel industry but also the provincial and territorial hotel associations.
The Trade Show hosted many suppliers to the hospitality industry - over 100 booths & spanning two rooms and featuring an innovating floor design.
The conference sessions featured five speakers: GPC presented the results of its second HAC-commissioned survey entitled, "Canadian Business & Leisure Travel Intentions for 2006"; Ron Andruff presented information about the new .travel domain names and its implications for the industry; Donald Bender discussed online marketing; David Prentice explained the concept of his Value Model and organizational improvement expert, Jim Clemmer spoke about delegates roles as leaders and how to positively influence growth and change.
On February 15, 2006, the Hotel Association of Canada announced the following winners of the Hall of Fame Awards of Excellence at a gala dinner at the InterContinental Hotel in Toronto:
Mike Duffy, CTV host, gave the keynote address on recent Canadian Politics.
