Bike Week
May 28 to June 10, 2007

The City of Toronto held Bike Week from May 28 to June 10, 2007. There were many interesting and useful events such as breakfasts, movie nights, bike instructor and repair workshops. The purpose of this event is to encourage the use of cycling in the City of Toronto.

With our increasing awareness and concern about global warming, more consideration should be given to make cycling and commuting in Toronto as easy as we hear it is in Montreal! TorontoArtsandEvents believe that the federal government should give grants to people who cycle to work and to events. The provincial government should give health rebates for those who cycle - it could save money in the long run! Instead of giving a $1,000 federal grant for certain cars, how about a $ 100 grant for those buying a bike and use it to go to work, school instead of driving. Interesting! Write those politicians!

While Bike Week was a huge week in the City of Toronto, there remains much to be done. Check back here for Bike week 2008 which will be bigger and better!
